| A prosthetic arm doesn't have to look like one! |
| Below Elbow Prosthetics- Passive hands or "cosmetic" gloves actually are quite functional despite what many may think. Studies show that the most common uses for a below elbow prosthesis are balance, holding or pressing down objects, pushing, and stabilizing one's self. A high quality silicone restoration does that, plus it can restore one's appearance in the process. Don't underestimate the value of a passive arm! And don't think that if it's a hook or "electronic" arm that you are getting your best function. If you are a seasoned wearer, carefully consider what you do with your prosthesis. |
